Day 52 of Middle East Conflict: Trump Says Extension of Iran Ceasefire Is “Highly Unlikely”

Tensions in the Middle East continue to rise as the conflict between the United States, Iran, and Israel enters its 52nd day. US President Donald Trump has made it clear that extending the current ceasefire with Iran is now “highly unlikely,” increasing fears of a fresh escalation in the region.

 reached before the deadline, the chances of extending peace talks are very low. His statement has created global concern as diplomatic efforts remain uncertain.

Trump Confident Iran Will Return to Negotiations

Despite the growing tension, Trump remains confident that Iran will come back to the negotiating table. During a phone interview on “The John Fredericks Show,” he strongly said:

“They’re going to negotiate, and if they don’t, they’re going to see problems like they’ve never seen before.”

Trump also added that he hopes Iran will make a fair deal and focus on rebuilding its country. He emphasized once again that the United States will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

This strong warning comes as Vice President JD Vance and senior US officials are expected to travel to Pakistan for a possible second round of talks with Iranian representatives.

However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied that any formal negotiations are currently taking place, creating confusion around the diplomatic process.

Iran Demands Immediate Release of Seized Cargo Ship

Another major issue increasing tensions is the US Navy’s seizure of the Iranian cargo ship M/V Touska in the Gulf of Oman.

According to reports, US naval forces fired on and seized the Iranian-flagged vessel after it allegedly attempted to cross a US naval blockade. The ship was carrying cargo worth millions of dollars, although the exact contents have not been publicly disclosed.
